The 2019 VFW Golf Tournament Winning Team was from left, Anthony Rose, Larry Buttery, Dennis Ellis and Marty Harris. They won the 12th Annual Greenwood VFW Post 5864 Golf Tournament held June 8, 2019 at Valle Vista Golf Course. The team shot an amazing 58 in the scramble. The outing is the VFW’s largest money-making event throughout the year.

Below are businesses and individuals from Greenwood and the surrounding communities who have supported Greenwood VFW Post 5864 throughout the year in many ways. The support we continue to receive from these folks is paramount in allowing us to continue providing the programs that we sponsor each year.

For the 2018-2019 year, our VFW provided nearly $15,700 in financial support to veterans, their families, widows and children of deceased veterans; three $1,000 scholarships; local awards to an elementary, junior high and high school Teacher of the Year; Outstanding Citizen; Outstanding Police Officer; Outstanding Fireman; Outstanding EMT; Boy Scout / Girl Scout of the Year; three Patriot’s Pen and three Voice of Democracy essay winners.
